Patauá Oil – Oenocarpus bataua

The oil extracted from the mesocarp of the patauá (Oenocarpus bataua) is a greenish, transparent liquid with a mild odor and a taste similar to that of olive oil (Olea europaea), as well as its physical appearance and fatty acid composition. Its high level of unsaturated fatty acids is notable.

Due to its high oleic acid content, patauá oil has moisturizing properties and can be used in skin and hair care, or even in formulations of anti-dandruff and hair revitalizing products and in the production of soaps and moisturizing creams.
