Shellac Wax

Shellac wax is a natural waxy substance derived from the secretions of the lac bug (Kerria lacca), a small scale insect found mainly in Asia, particularly India, Pakistan and Thailand. The female lac bug secretes a resinous substance onto tree branches, which is harvested and processed to produce shellac and shellac wax.

Shellac wax serves multiple functions including protective coating, water-resistant barrier, and finish enhancer. Its applications span various industries suc as for wood finished and polished, metal coatings, leather finishes, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food nd industrial uses.
